Planning

So, the girls will be having another birthday come April. As you know they’ve been planning since the day after their last birthday. I don’t like parties. I don’t. The planning, the clean-up, the expense, the clean-up…

Well, this one is really going to get me out of my comfort zone! We are having a sleepover. Sad face, anxiety face, crying face – all rolled into one. Also, this is the first time we are having two birthday parties. How fun, says the 51-year-old mom of ten-year-old twin girls.

Lillianne is still in her Chuck E. Cheese era. She loves all things Chuck E. Cheese, she’ll have her party there. Quick and easy- Get there, eat pizza, cake, play games, two hours later, done and on our way home. Hannah on the other hand, is my accountability twin. Holding me accountable every waking moment. I can’t obliviously nod my head in agreement to anything she asks for while scrolling on social media. Nope, I’ve had lots of deer in the headlight moments with this one.

Hannah’s party will be an Olivia Rodrigo themed party. Who? I didn’t know either, think Taylor Swift, however, black hair and younger. She has an album called “Guts” – the color purple and butterflies are making it a bit more palpable for me. This is going to require; furniture rearrangement, teepees, balloons, pillows, spa stuff, karaoke, food bar, candy bar, Olivia Rodrigo cake and cookies, pinta, BREAKFAST and maybe a kangaroo. Oh, and lots of lots of patience. I’m exhausted already. Did I mention I didn’t like parties?

“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:20
